Game Creek Trail |
Trail for a 6 mile hike. It was really beautiful up there. The weather was perfect and we walked and talked and took our time and the dogs, who are very familiar with this walk, investigated all the new smells and knew where all the good watering holes were and said hello to all the other dogs we met on the way.
We got back to the house and after some lunch Kay and I went up to her studio to look over some of her recent artwork that will be going into a show in a few weeks and I showed her some pieces of my jewelry I had brought along...it was really fun to see her new work, she has long worked in watercolors and I loved seeing how she is using new color and images in this new work. We had a lot of fun hanging out and agreed it would be so much nicer

Later on, Paul and Kay had an event they had to attend, and so David and I went into town, in their car, which was great, because while in town it started to rain, and pour, and then sleet! It was really coming down and so everyone was huddling under the covered sidewalks till it was safe to cross the street. David was on the hunt for a fleece jacket, and we scoured the tourist and outfitter shops till he found something he liked. We checked out a few of the galleries, including Horizon, where Kay's art is sold. We found the Merry Piglet Mexican Restaurant that Kay and mentioned, and had a very tasty dinner, and of course, some equally tasty margaritas!
When we were leaving town, there was an amazing sunset, splashing the rain clouds with a really intense pink...it took a while to find a place to get a good photo, and so most of the intense color was gone but it was still pretty amazing.
Back at the house we did a little laundry, and started to get things organized for our departure tomorrow. We had such a great time here, and it went way too fast. Paul and Kay were gracious and generous hosts and we are so grateful for their hospitality! I believe hospitality is an art that I am really trying to cultivate, and these two are masters! Thank you! Thank you!
